Roof Collapse at White's Tavern: Statement and Update

A Belfast City Centre bar has issued a statement apologising to customers after an incident on Saturday night. Emergency Response

The emergency services were called to White's Tavern shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 15, following reports of a roof collapsing in the bar. The police, fire, and ambulance service attended the incident with the bar saying it immediately sealed off the affected area. There have not been any reports of serious injuries after the plasterboard fell from the roof, and White's Tavern has said an investigation found "no structural defects". It has apologised to the customers that were impacted by the incident. Safety Measures

It said on social media: "The safety of our customers and staff at White’s Complex is our top priority. Following an incident in White’s Tavern, which saw plasterboard fall in the bar, we immediately sealed off the affected area and liaised with emergency services. There were no serious injuries, we apologise to customers and staff that were affected. We have conducted an investigation which has confirmed there are no structural defects and we are commencing remediation works. White’s Tavern will reopen on Tuesday 17th June, with @whitesgardenbelfast @whitesbeerhall & @whitesstorebelfast open as normal." Official Statement

APNI spokesperson said: "Police attended a report of a collapsed roof at premises in the Winecellar Entry area of Belfast city centre shortly before 12.10am today, Sunday 15th June. Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Services and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene. There were no reports of any serious injuries."
