Remembering Lillie Gaynor: A Tribute to a Talented GAA Rising Star

Tributes have been paid to a "much-loved" and talented young GAA player from Kerry following her sudden death.

Lillie's Legacy
Lillie Gaynor was a second-year student at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick and had started a teacher training placement in Tralee. She was also a hugely talented and popular athlete, playing both Gaelic football and camogie to a high level. Lillie's club Abbeydorney LGFC shared heartfelt words on social media in memory of her.

Community Mourns
Commenting on her tragic passing, Abbeydorney LGFC said: "Everyone at Abbeydorney LGFC is shocked and heartbroken by the sudden, peaceful but unexpected passing of our intermediate player, Lillie Gaynor, overnight. She was a much-loved and valued member of our club since joining at a young age and was an integral member of teams all the way through, and her parents always there as supporters. She was a proud member of the Junior winning squad in 2024."

A Devastating Loss
Her mother Martina's workplace, Clanmaurice Medical Practice, also expressed deep sadness at the loss, describing Lillie as a vibrant and brilliant ray of joy & love known for her sportsmanship and kindness. The community extends their sympathies to the family during this difficult time.
