Local Councillor Condemns 'Totally Disgraceful' and 'Intimidating' Signs in Holywood

A Holywood councillor has condemned intimidating signs that have been erected around a housing estate in the town. The signs have been put up on lampposts in the Abbey Ring area of Holywood in recent days, with the issue being reported to the police.

Councillor's Statement

Alliance Holywood and Clandeboye Alderman Martin McRandal has condemned the signs saying they are 'totally disgraceful' and not reflective of the views of the wider community. He expressed his hope for the swift removal of the signs, emphasizing the right of all residents to safety and respect in their living environment.

Community Unity

'A welcoming and inclusive community, these signs do not represent us. Such acts only aim to divide, but we stand united in promoting equality and belonging for everyone in our area,' stated Ald McRandal. Action has been taken by reporting the matter to the local PSNI, with ongoing engagement to ensure the prompt removal of the signs.
