Enhanced Transport Options for The Open Portrush Golf Championship Revealed

Extra train services and special buses have been announced for the Open golf championship in Portrush this summer. Police, meanwhile, say a "considerable amount of planning has gone into the traffic and transport arrangements" for the historic sporting event in July.

Translink launched its transport plan for The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club, 13 – 20th July 2025, at an event at the prestigious club on Thursday. Key event partners are encouraging anyone heading to The Open to plan their travel in advance, leave extra time for journeys and use public transport including additional bus, coach and train services as well as The Open Park & Ride options.
