Police Investigation Underway After Woman's Sudden Death on Shore Road

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman in North Belfast.

It's understood emergency services received a 999 call to a house on the Shore Road, close to its junction with Donegall Park Avenue, late last night. Residents nearby reported seeing blue lights in the early hours of Tuesday morning, June 3. An arrest has been made following the incident with an updated statement expected from police later today. It is understood a man was detained by police at the scene. Police forensics attended the scene on Tuesday morning as part of the investigation. A cordon remains in place in front of the house while police tape has been placed across the driveway and front steps of the property. There is also a police cordon in place at the rear of the property on Donegall Park Avenue. North Belfast DUP MLA Phillip Brett said people in the area are in shock after the incident. He said: “There is massive shock and sadness in the Shore Road community following last night’s tragic incident. 'I have spoken with the police and they will be releasing a statement later today. An arrest has been made.' My thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted. A spokesperson for the PSNI said: 'Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sudden death in the Shore Road area of north Belfast this morning, Tuesday 3rd June.'
