Tower Air Fryer Recall: Models Sold at Leading Retailers Pose Fire Hazard

Models Affected

A safety recall has been announced for several models of Tower Air Fryers due to potential overheating issues that could pose fire hazards. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has released a notice identifying the appliances in question, which are available from leading high-street chains such as Argos, B&M, and Tesco.

Recalled Models

The range of kitchen gadgets in question were produced between January 2022 and April 2023. The official Tower website issued a statement saying: 'The fault has been deemed low risk by Trading Standards, however the safety and well-being of our customers is our top priority, and we have made the decision to voluntarily recall these models as a precautionary measure.' The models included in the recall are:

• T17061BLK Tower 4Ltr Manual Air Fryer
• T17067 Tower 4Ltr Digital Air Fryer
• T17087 Tower 2Ltr Compact Manual Air Fryer.

Actions for Consumers

Tower is advising consumers who own any of these air fryer models to stop using them immediately and check if their appliance is affected by the recall by confirming the model number. Instructions on how to locate the model number on the air fryer are provided on their website. Users should unplug the device, tip it to one side to view the rating label, and inspect the base for the product number.
