Inside Rory McIlroy's Decision to Move from Sunny Florida to UK Mansion

Masters champion Rory McIlroy has opened up aboutwife Erica Stoll's reluctance to make the UK their permanent home. The couple, along with their daughter Poppy, are currently settled in Jupiter, Florida, where they splashed out £13.6million on a sumptuous mansion back in 2018. Yet, they have added a brand new Wentworth, England property to their collection of homes.
US Open to UK Relocation
Following his appearance at the US Open at Oakmont this June, McIlroy revealed that the family plans to relocate there, positioning themselves conveniently in Britain ahead of the Open Championship at Royal Portrush the next month, reports the Express.
Mixed Feelings About England
While McIlroy has previously acknowledged that Stoll wasn't exactly over the moon about setting up shop full-time in the UK, preferring intermittent stays, he divulged more about their residence strategy in the Netflix series Full Swing. 'If it were up to her, she wouldn't move to England straightaway,' McIlroy shared. 'But she definitely wants to spend more time there.'
Stoll's Background and Preferences
Stoll, 37, hails from America and grew up in New York. Her paths crossed with McIlroy during her tenure at the 2012 Ryder Cup in Medinah, leading to their love story. Last summer saw the pair iron out their marital woes, putting aside any thoughts of divorce. Nevertheless, it appears their present dwelling doesn't quite suit her preferences.
