Man Arrested for Reckless High-Speed Drive with Children in Car

Social Services have been contacted after a man allegedly drove at 120mph in a car with a smashed windscreen, with children inside.

Driver's Actions
In a statement issued by the PSNI, they say the driver of the car put his 5-year-old and 15-year-old children at risk by driving at speeds of up to 120mph in the Newry area.

Police Pursuit
The driver reportedly failed to stop for Road Policing Officers from Mahon Road on the Armagh Road in Newry, leading to a pursuit where he overtook vehicles at high speed on the A1 carriageway.

Arrest and Charges
Officers from Ardmore Station managed to stop the vehicle by stinging its tires, leading to the driver fleeing on foot and being apprehended. The driver faces charges including Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for Police, No Driving Licence, No Insurance, and Using a Motor Vehicle in a Dangerous Condition due to the smashed windscreen.
