Woman Found Dead at Home Triggers PSNI Murder Probe

Police investigating the death of a woman at her home in North Belfast have launched a murder investigation.

In a brief statement issued late on Tuesday afternoon, the PSNI confirmed that detectives are treating the death of 71-year-old Marie Green as a suspected murder. Detective Inspector Jennifer Rea, from the Police Service’s Major Investigation Team, stated: 'My thoughts are with Marie’s family and loved ones who are left trying to come to terms with their tragic loss.' A 31-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody. The authorities are urging anyone with information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 2020 of 02/06/25.
