Discover the Ultimate Beach Getaway in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland was treated to some beautiful weather over the last few weeks and we weren't complaining! As the sunny skies and warmer temperatures were enjoyed by all, we put it to our readers to see where is the best beach to visit in NI this summer.

The Winner: Murlough Beach

Northern Ireland has no shortage of beautiful beaches and swimming spots to make the most of a gorgeous day, so we rounded up twelve of the country's most popular and well-visited beaches to ask our readers to crown their favourite. In typical NI fashion, the results are in when the rain has made a reappearance but not to worry, we are hopeful that the sun will break through once again and these gorgeous beaches can be enjoyed once again. Whether it's for a sea dip, building sandcastles or bodyboarding, over 1000 votes were cast in our best beaches poll but there could only be one winner. Murlough Beach in Co Down was named as their 'Favourite Beach in Northern Ireland'. It was followed closely by White Rocks Beach along the north coast in second and Benone Strand in third.

Other Popular Spots

We gave readers the option to choose 'Other' when voting in the poll and to give their recommendation - this option came in sixth with the most popular recommendation not on the list White Park Bay in Co Antrim. Other popular spots listed were Ballywalter, Castlerock and Portavogie.
