Northern Ireland Jeweller Penalized for Fake Designer Watch Sales

Counterfeit Watches Case:
A Northern Ireland jeweller, Mr. Rodney Simmons, 51, was fined £9,000 at Craigavon Crown Court for selling counterfeit designer watches. The charges stemmed from violating the Trade Marks Act 1994. Trading Standards Service (TSS) conducted the investigation following a consumer complaint concerning products at Faith Jewellers in Craigavon. The fake watches, priced between £249 and £399, were displayed alongside authentic items and seized by authorities. TSS emphasized the negative impact of counterfeit trade on consumers and local businesses, urging vigilance and reporting of such activities.
