Violent Hijacking in Newtownabbey: Urgent PSNI Appeal

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of a hijacking incident involving a handgun on Saturday. Shortly after 10pm last night, it was reported that two men exited commercial premises on the O’Neill Road in Newtownabbey and saw two males looking inside the van they had been travelling in.

Suspect Armed with Handgun

When challenged, one of the males ran towards one of the men and demanded the keys to the vehicle. The suspect then pointed a handgun in his face, struck him on the head with the weapon, and took the keys before fleeing in the van. The armed man is described as approximately six ft tall, athletic build, dressed in dark clothing and a balaclava.
