Liverpool Dad Arrested: Shocking Revelation Unfolds

A 53-year-old man, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been arrested by Merseyside Police on charges of attempted murder, dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. The police received an extension on Wednesday to further interrogate him as their investigation advances. The tally of individuals hurt in the recent incident has escalated to 79, including young children amongst the wounded.

Household Details
Reported by The Times to be a business owner, the suspect resides in a detached house in a Liverpool suburb with his wife, a teacher, and their offspring. His social media accounts reveal participation in triathlons and vacations to high-end destinations.

Incident Recap
Currently, the authorities are scrutinising what they have labelled as "horrific" dashcam video from the people carrier implicated in Monday's city centre mishap, reports the Liverpool Echo. Confirming the identity of the vehicle involved, a mechanic who worked on the family's dark grey Ford Galaxy last year noted it matched the car used in the incident. After the apprehension late on Monday night, police were spotted outside the suspect’s four-bedroom residence. A local resident shared: "He was very thoughtful, and would look out for older residents in the street. I really struggle to believe how he could be the [arrested man]. He's the last person on this street I would have thought would be connected to something like that. "I feel awfully sorry for the people who were hurt during the parade. But I feel very sorry for his family as well, who always struck me as nice, decent people."

Community Response
Another neighbour recalled the suspect once coming over in the middle of the night to help when their alarm system malfunctioned. A former resident of the same street said: "I briefly chatted to him six months ago. He seemed fairly normal, and as people go quite down to earth and a normal, well-balanced guy." He added: "He was quite proud of his oldest child, and he was telling me how well they were doing. I got the sense he's proud of his family." Another former neighbour mentioned that the suspect's family were "very nice, very friendly" and had been kind to her elderly mother. The incident with the crash is not being investigated as an act of terrorism. Merseyside Police have confirmed they are scrutinizing CCTV from the vicinity as part of the ongoing probe. It is also reported that dashcam footage from the suspect's car is under examination and might serve as crucial evidence should the case proceed to court.
