Exciting New Gangland Series Coming to Prime Video Starring Hollywood A-lister

An upcoming gangland series that all MobLand fans must watch is set to begin filming soon. MobLand has been airing on Paramount Plus and has been a hit with fans since it was released earlier this year.
The Westies: Created by acclaimed showrunner and executive producer Chris Brancato, the eight episode series will be set in early 1980s New York, and explores the brutal rise of the Irish-American gang that ruled Hell’s Kitchen at the time. Starring Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons, the series promises to be a gritty and kinetic crime drama that delves into the violent world of the Westies.
Premiere Details: The Westies will go into production in Toronto, Canada, in July and will premiere exclusively on MGM+ in select countries. Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will handle international distribution. No official release date has been announced, but the series is set to consist of eight episodes. J.K. Simmons' involvement in the project has been praised by Michael Wright, head of MGM+, citing the actor's authenticity and intensity as invaluable to the story.
Behind the Scenes: The narrative will focus on the construction of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center on the Westies’ home turf in Hell’s Kitchen, promising a significant financial gain for the gang. Despite being outnumbered by the Italian Mafia, the Westies' brutality and cunning have allowed them to navigate the criminal underworld and secure a share of the spoils. However, internal conflicts threaten to disrupt this delicate balance, potentially drawing the gang into the FBI's investigations into the Italian mafia.
