A 27-year-old man, Mario Lakatos, has been sentenced to five months in jail after a video of his arrest in Belfast went viral. The charges against Lakatos included theft, assault on police, and breaching a deportation order. The arrest happened after a video surfaced on social media showing him being tackled by police officers on Albertbridge Road. Lakatos was found to have entered the UK in violation of a deportation order. An APSNI spokesperson confirmed the sentence and charges, stating that the man will serve consecutive 5-month terms.
