With online shopping at M&S predicted to return imminently, customers can't wait to get shopping again. Some have also been going into physical stores to make their purchases. But if that is the case for you – a shopper has issued some important advice about checking your receipt. This is good practice in any store, but may be even more important following the cyber incident. One mum visited a store to purchase some items from the Food Hall and quickly noticed the price displayed on the shelves was not reflected on her receipt. On Mumsnet, in a post titled "M&S, check your till receipt", she explained: "Bought a food item yesterday and the price charged at the till (£3.75) was higher than that shown on the shelf edge ticket (£3.50)." While pricing errors can occur in any store, the mother urged shoppers to be vigilant following Marks and Spencer's cyber incident. She continued: "The assistant apologised, took off the shelf edge marker and apologised saying that since the cyber attack pricing and delivery have been a problem." The error was rectified quickly and easily – so it's always worth checking receipts to make sure you are paying the correct amount. Commenters also pointed out this is a problem in many stores, so be sure to be vigilant when making purchases. One said: "These things can happen in any shop! I've had it happen in other major retailers." Meanwhile, another added: "That's why it's good to check receipts, but be especially careful with M&S until they completely resolve their issues."
