Firefighters Fighting Wildfire in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service is currently battling a wildfire in Co Antrim. Emergency services were called to the inferno, which spans approximately 10 acres with a forefront of 200 meters, on Lisboy Road in Ballymoney at around 4 pm. At one point, up to 51 firefighters and seven appliances had been mobilized to combat the blaze, with locals being warned to avoid the area. In a recent update, the Fire Service mentioned that they have reduced their operations, leaving two appliances and one specialist vehicle on-site for several hours. An ANIFRS spokesperson stated, "Following an initial call just after 4 pm on Friday, April 4th, 2025, the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service have been tackling a wildfire on Lisboy Road, Ballymoney, covering approximately 10 acres with a firefront of 200 meters. We have now scaled back operations with two appliances and one specialist vehicle to remain at this location for a number of hours."
