Emergency Services Respond to Serious Collision in Lurgan

The emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious collision in Lurgan this morning. Road Closures and Local Diversions
Police have closed a section of Silverwood Road from the Kiln Lane junction following the collision and are asking motorists to avoid the area while the emergency services attend the scene. Local diversions have been put in place and drivers are being asked to find alternate routes for their journeys. The air ambulance has been sent to the scene with at least one person being taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. Police Advisory
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Road users are advised that the Silverwood Road in Lurgan is closed from the Kiln Lane junction due to a serious road traffic collision. Local diversions are in place at this time, please seek an alternative route." Live Updates and Alerts

NIAS has confirmed that one person has been taken to hospital following the collision, with the air ambulance being sent to the scene. Another PSNI update stated: "Road users are advised to avoid the Francis Street area in Lurgan, particularly HGV vehicles, as officers deal with a serious road traffic collision in the Silverwood Road area of the town. An update will follow in due course." Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart said she is engaging with the emergency services following the collision and has urged road users to avoid the area.
