Alert Citizen Leads to Arrest of Burglary Suspect at Jack's Convenience Store

Burglary Suspect Apprehended
A burglary suspect has been arrested after a member of the public spotted someone “scaling the wall” of a shop. The 37-year-old was detained after the incident at Jack’s Convenience Store in the Twinbrook area of West Belfast. The PSNI says the man was arrested “at the scene following a report of burglary at a shop in Dunmurry’s Broom Park in the early hours of today, Monday 9th June”. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary and going equipped and remains in custody at this time, the police say.
Stolen Items Recovered
Packets of cigarettes, pouches of tobacco, vaping products, and a quantity of cash were reported stolen during the burglary. Sergeant Burns said: “A member of the public called police at around 1.30 am to advise that a man had been seen scaling the wall of the shop. Officers attended within minutes of the call and a man was later arrested. “We would like to thank the person who made this call. Please do call us when you notice anything suspicious happening, it can make a real difference. On this occasion, prompted by the fast actions of the caller, an arrest was made while the burglary was underway and the stolen items should be returned to the business.
