The case focuses on the alleged inaction of the Portuguese authorities in identifying and prosecuting Brückner, later identified as the primary suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Hazel Behan, who was violently assaulted in Praia da Rocha, Algarve, criticizes the Portuguese authorities for their investigative flaws and mishandling of the case, leading to a lack of justice for nearly two decades.
