Unveiling the Chaos: Night of Violence in Ballymena Captured Through Images

PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has condemned scenes of violence in Ballymena for a second night in which 17 police officers were injured.

The Chaos in Clonavon Terrace
The PSNI stated that officers in the Clonavon Terrace area of the Co Antrim town faced a sustained attack on Tuesday, enduring multiple petrol bombs, heavy masonry, bricks, and fireworks. Plastic baton rounds were discharged, and water cannons were deployed.

Damage and Arrests
Businesses, homes, and vehicles were targeted and damaged, resulting in injuries to officers and arrests for riotous behavior. The violence erupted following a protest supporting the victim of an alleged sex attack.

Calls for Peace
PSNI Chief Constable urged an end to criminal acts, emphasizing the pursuit of justice. The Northern Ireland Executive also condemned the violence, calling for calm and respect for the justice process.
