Human remains found near the beachfront mansion of pop star Taylor Swift have been positively identified by police. Discovered washed ashore on May 14 in the Watch Hill area of Westerly, Rhode Island, the remains have been confirmed to belong to Eric Wein, as announced by the South Kingstown Police Department over a month after the discovery, on June 17.

The efforts to identify the remains involved collaboration between the South Kingstown Police officials, the Mansfield, Massachusetts Police Department, and the Rhode Island Office of the State Medical Examiners. The South Kingstown Police Department has formally concluded its investigation, ruling out foul play.

The local community, including resident Taylor Day, expressed shock at the discovery. Day shared her surprise, commenting, "It kind of alarmed me, and it was just something very out of the ordinary for Westerly."
