Heartbreaking Discovery: Missing Man's Body Found by Family

The family of missing Larne man Gary Patterson have confirmed that his body has been recovered after months of searching. Mr Patterson was last seen outside Tesco on Main Street in Larne on Saturday, October 12 lifting money from a cash machine. He had left his flat in the Co Antrim town at 10 am that day. The 45-year-old was reported missing on December 20. Searches had been taking place every week since his disappearance was reported, with Gary's family bringing in professional divers to try and find him.

Confirmation of Recovery

Police received a report that human remains had been discovered in a river in the Ballyrobert Road area of Crawfordsburn on Saturday, June 7. Those remains have since been confirmed to be those of Gary Patterson. Confirming the news on Facebook, his brother Simon said: 'It breaks my heart to have to announce the passing of my brother Gary Patterson. His body was found off the Ballyrobert Road, Crawfordsburn, hidden down at the bottom of a steep bank in a stream. RIP, he will never be forgotten. The Funeral will be in Larne, the place he loved.'
