Electric Car-Powered Fish and Chip Shop Makes Waves in Seaside UK Town

Innovative Chippy Concept

In celebration of National Fish and Chip Day on 6th June, the quaint seaside town of Deal in Kent served up 300 free portions of chips to delighted locals and visitors, with a side of battered fish while stocks lasted.

TikTok Star and Electric Cars in Action

The shop was fuelled by two electric vehicles and spearheaded by TikTok star Destiny Harold, also known as the 'Chip Shop Diva'. The outlet's frying solution was powered by the Dacia Spring, known as the 'cheapest electric vehicle' in the market.

A Unique Collaboration

The venture was a collaboration with The Blue Mermaid Fish Bar, offering a fresh take on the traditional fish and chip experience. This initiative was born out of a survey that highlighted fish and chips as the top indulgence during a British holiday, alongside other beloved treats.

National Love for Fish and Chips

According to Dacia, the event aimed to showcase the electric vehicle's capabilities in powering external devices, reflecting the affinity Brits have for the iconic meal. The study also revealed the strong emotional connection people have with classic British foods and how it transcends social boundaries.
