Serious Collision on Dublin Road Sends Two to Hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital after a collision in Co Down on Wednesday. The Dublin Road, between Kilcoo and Castlewellan, was closed in both directions for a number of hours this morning, March 5.

Police Statement

Police say three vehicles were involved in the serious incident. The road reopened in both directions at around 2pm.

Emergency Response

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed that two patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Road Reopened

The police confirmed that Dublin Road in Kilcoo has reopened following the collision. Diversions and advisories were in place during the incident.

Fire and Rescue

The Fire and Rescue services responded to the scene where two cars were on fire. The cause was believed to be accidental ignition and was managed by 11:23am.
