Trump Unaware of White House Celebration Boycott

US President Donald Trump has stated that he was unaware of Northern Ireland's political leaders choosing to boycott this year's White House St Patrick's Day celebrations. The boycott by Sinn Féin, the SDLP, and Alliance was in protest against Mr. Trump's stance on Gaza. During his meeting with Irish premier Micheal Martin, Trump expressed his lack of knowledge regarding the boycotts. This comes as Northern Ireland's First Minister Michelle O'Neill opted to return home instead of attending the events in Washington DC. Meanwhile, Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly of the DUP is present in Washington. The discussion between Mr. Trump and the Irish Taoiseach also touched on the significant trade imbalance between the two nations, with Trump highlighting the need to address this disparity.
