DNA Tests Confirm None of the Bodies in Grave Belong to Joe Lynskey

DNA tests have revealed that none of the bodies found in a grave belong to the 'Disappeared' former monk Joe Lynskey. The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains (ICLVR) confirmed this discovery after exhuming remains from Annyalla Cemetery in Co Monaghan. Search for Joe Lynskey Continues

Despite the latest search yielding negative results, the ICLVR remains committed to finding Joe Lynskey, Columba McVeigh, Robert Nairac, and Seamus Maguire. The Commission issued a statement expressing disappointment to Lynskey's family and the challenging process of exhumation. They highlighted the need for continued efforts in recovering all the Disappeared cases. 13 Remains Recovered So Far

Up to now, 13 of the Disappeared have been found, but the search for others persists. Joe Lynskey, a former Cistercian monk who later joined the IRA, went missing in 1972, with claims that the IRA executed and buried him. Appeal for Information
