McDonald's in Morocco: A Culinary Experience

One of the best things about travelling to another country is discovering its cuisine. It's a great way to taste the typical dishes of other places and get a closer look at part of their culture. However, some people choose to visit famous fast-food chains during their trips to try products that aren't available back home. Although it might seem odd, the meals aren't always the same. This is the case of McDonald's, as confirmed by Irene and Moha Sandali, who visited one of the outlets in Morocco.

Unique McDonald's Menu Items

In a video posted on TikTok, the young couple shared their experience and how surprised they were by one menu item in particular. The first thing that takes them aback is that this McDonald's in Morocco has "many new things". First, they try a double Big Mac, which has four patties, and they described it as "top notch". We've had this menu item in the UK before, but it was something that was totally new to the Spanish couple. They chowed down on their burger, along with some chips and curry sauce. In Morocco, they said these popular items tasted "completely different". Speaking about the dip in particular, they added: "It tastes like Indian food. It's very good." If you want to take your fries to the next level, you can also get them Algerian style. The couple gushed: "They come with onion and Algerian sauce. It's one of the best sauces in the world. Don't die without trying it first, really." Meanwhile, they also raved about the "cheese and chilli croquettes", which look both gooey and crispy. Finally, the duo washed everything down with a "delicious" strawberry milkshake and Pina colada.

Irene and Moha revealed the price of this meal at McDonald's in Morocco was a total of 419 Moroccan dirhams, which is equivalent to around £33. The short clip has garnered more than 8,000 likes – and plenty of people took to the comments section to share their thoughts. One said: "Personally, I like the Moroccan McDonald's more, but it's not cheap at all. It's cheaper to eat at a restaurant than at McDonald's." Another remarked: "In each country it tastes different. The flavour is not the same."

Unique Moroccan McDonald's Menu Items

- McArabia– This is a popular menu item in many Middle Eastern and North African markets, including Morocco. It's a flatbread sandwich typically filled with grilled chicken strips, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and garlic or tahini sauce. It's a nod to regional culinary tastes.
- Chicken Mythic Sandwich– Unlike a McChicken Sandwich you'd get here in the UK, this menu item is packed full of spices. As well as the usual breaded chicken, cheese, sesame bun and lettuce, it has a kick to it.
- McFlavour Fries with Algerian Sauce– These loaded fries come with crispy onions and oodles of sauce. It has flavours of mayo, onion, garlic, paprika and chilli. Sounds delicious!
- Cheezy Box– A favourite with cheese lovers, this box comes with six McNuggets, eight triangular gouda bites, and eight chili cheese nuggets. The perfect snack, if you ask us.
