Police Officer Admits to Domestic Abuse Against Former Partner

A police officer has pleaded guilty to a campaign of domestic abuse against a former partner. Alan McKinney admitted to engaging in a course of abusive behavior towards his former partner. This behavior lasted over two years, culminating in a common assault. McKinney, who worked at the Downpatrick Police Station, is currently suspended pending an internal misconduct investigation.
