The Indulgent Habit: Brits' Eyewatering Spending on Takeaway Treats

Takeaway Extravagance

According to a recent study, takeaway enthusiasts might fork out an eye-watering £51k throughout their lifetime. Research polling 2,000 adults discovered that those fond of takeaway treats are dishing out over £60 each month on home food deliveries.

Regional Trends

The survey identified that Londoners and Glaswegians are the most prolific spenders on takeaways, with approximately £23 being spent by each individual weekly. The favoured day to indulge seems to be Friday, as 33 per cent enjoy a takeaway to mark the end of a work week, while Saturdays are chosen by 25 per cent.

Changing Habits

Regardless of these spending habits, nearly one in five confess they often need to reheat meals after delivery, while a significant 70 per cent acknowledge their bafflement at the high cost of delivered pizzas. As a result, supermarket Asda has offered an alternative option by launching it's £5.98 meal deal for two.
