Controversy on BGT: Bruno Tonioli's Apology

Judge Bruno Tonioli quickly had to apologise for using 'offensive' language during the Britain's Got Talent final, which took place on Saturday, May 31, featuring ten finalists, including a wildcard act, competing for the £250,000 grand prize and an opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance before royalty.

Controversial Remarks
The live broadcast commenced with a performance by the wildcard act, an ABBA tribute duo, and continued with various singers, comedians, and dancers taking to the stage. Bruno, however, encountered trouble during his critique of a comedian's act, which had the audience in laughter. The 69-year-old television judge let loose a profanity before the 9 pm watershed while praising the comedian. "We were just p***ing," Bruno exclaimed, before pausing to rectify his statement and offering an apology.

Reactions and Apologies
Due to the incident, host Dec Donnelly also apologised to viewers on Bruno's behalf, stating: "Apologies if you were offended by Bruno's slip of the tongue there." Viewers responded to the faux pas via social media platform X, where @AGH1494 noted: "A lovely swear from Bruno. #BGTFinal #BGT #BritainsGotTalent." And another user mentioned, "Bruno dropped a minor swear klaxon! #bgt." (sic) Additionally, @elliecolton_ tweeted: "I'm sorry but Bruno swearing on Britains Got Talent has got me in stitches even 15 minutes after, so funny." (sic) "Dec apologising for Bruno," another viewer chimed in, accompanied by a string of laughing crying emojis.

Emotional Moment
Subsequently, when drag queen Jasmine Rice gave an astounding performance of Nessun Dorma, it left Bruno Tonioli visibly moved to tears. Overwhelmed, the judge hailed the performer as a 'living work of art', struggling to contain his emotions. On social media, @padahugs posted: "Was predicting that Bruno will cry at this #BGT." Equally, @KirstyJ80 teased: "Why do they always choose this song?! And Bruno in tears - get a grip #bgt." Catch up with Britain's Got Talent now on ITVX.
