Artemis Development Wins Appeal for Belfast Student Accommodation

Artemis Development Wins Appeal
A decision to reject an application to build a new student accommodation block in the Sandy Row area of South Belfast has been overturned. Artemis Development has won an appeal case against the Belfast City Council Planning Committee, granting planning permission for the project. The development comprises 354 units with a maximum height of eleven storeys, located near Sandy Row. Commissioner B Stevenson allowed the appeal, subject to conditions. Artemis Development had previously received planning approval for another application, involving an 11-storey buy-to-rent apartment block for young professionals. The decision has sparked debates regarding social housing elements and the appropriateness of the development in the area.
