Race Rioter Throws Hatchet at Police in Ballymena

A race rioter has thrown a hatchet at police during “completely unacceptable” disorder on Wednesday night.
Further Arrests and Injuries
In Ballymena, officers faced sustained attacks with petrol bombs, bricks, and more. The PSNI reported six additional arrests and multiple officers injured, though thankfully none seriously.
Use of Force
Officers deployed Attenuating Energy Projectiles and water cannons to disperse crowds. Meanwhile, in Larne, a leisure center was set ablaze in a shameful arson attack, although no injuries were reported.
Widespread Disruption
Across Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey, Coleraine, and more locations, protests and disturbances caused traffic disruptions, attacks on public transport, and arson incidents.
PSNI's Response
The PSNI confirmed that calm was restored in Belfast after dealing with protests, mainly peaceful, in various areas. Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson condemned the violent disorder, emphasizing that those responsible will face the full force of the law.
