Heartwarming Journey: Dad's Charity Run for Stepson with Down's Syndrome

A Co Antrim dad is preparing for one of his toughest challenges yet later this month after being inspired by his stepson.
Dad's Motivation
Dad-of-two Daz Tweed, 35, from Ballymena will be running 21km for three days in a row to raise funds for the Causeway Down's Syndrome Support Group. His challenge begins on World Down’s Syndrome Day, March 21, and the 21km distance represents the third copy of Trisomy 21, the genetic condition known as Down’s Syndrome.
Personal Connection
This cause is deeply personal to Daz, as his 13-year-old stepson, Jack, has Down’s Syndrome and benefits greatly from the group’s services.
Support Group's Impact
The group offers communication sessions, music therapy, seasonal events, and much more to support individuals with Down’s Syndrome and their families.
Fundraising Efforts
Daz has set up a GoFundMe page for his campaign, which has already raised over £600 towards the £1,000 target. You can donate to the fundraiser
